I was 23 when I started a brutally honest dating and relationship blog to heal myself from the toxic experiences I had survived as a teenager.
The deeper I got into finding my voice, the more readers my articles started to attract, and when I realized I was starting to have an impact, I got my hands on everything I could find to learn to become a better blogger. I taught myself to design, I started doing collaborations with other bloggers, and I read every article on ProBlogger and Copyblogger to fine-tune my skills.
Pretty quickly, my dear diary posts shifted into helping others through their own experiences. It wasn’t until I published my first book, The 9 Mirages of Love – How to Stop Chasing What Doesn’t Exist that I realized I had found my soul’s calling.
I was to help others find the same strength I had found in myself to not only survive, but to become my own strongest support system; A mission I have held on to since, and am proud to incorporate in my work serving others today.
In May 2012, I launched a women empowerment magazine online called The Indie Chicks. Our mission was to help empower women to find their inner strength and live fearless, unapologetic lives. The blog grew to a steady 500k-1 million page views a month, and in 2014, we decided to create a print edition for our readers.
Our print edition was picked up for national (and then international) distribution, and in 2015 I got to see my mission, my editorial designs, and my vision sit proudly on the stands next to giants like Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair.
A million and one lessons learned from running that business, but the most important one was knowing when something was getting dangerously close to outliving its magic.
To honor the impact our brand had, we knew it was time to let go and move on. In Feb 2016, we made the decision to shut down operations and go our separate ways to pursue our own passions and life callings.
Which brings us up to Bold Self, my next level evolution. My opportunity to integrate everything that I’ve created, and serve others in a completely different, but much deeper way.
This is what I left my 9-5 to build, from scratch with less than $500 in my bank account and even less of a clue on what to do next. But when you know, you know. And you’ll leap into the unknown with only your soul as your guide.
I continue to write and create empowering content, yes, and I also have a vision for a podcast sometime in the near future, but what Bold Self has given me the opportunity to do is support women even deeper.
With coaching, retreats, and live events, I am able to serve and honor my own soul’s calling to helping women take complete ownership and mastery of their lives in health, love, and their careers. I get to be there with you, every step of the way.
I honor your strength, your path, and your gifts and am here to support you in amplifying your power, and if you’re interested in working with me, I invite you into an Awaken Your Vision session.
